Re: prenatals question..
When I was pregnant, I had to try different types of prenatal (some of them would made me real sick & have an upset stomach). I also went to Target to see about the price and the one that they have there. The ones that they have at Target made me sick. My body wasn't use to it. Finally the only one that didn't make me vomit is Prenate Essential.
You would have to try it out...See which one you like and see which one your body would be okay with it.

Re: prenatals question..
Depends on if you have any sort of deficiencies like anemia or calcium deficiency. Then there could be something in a rx prenatal that would be better for you. But if you're otherwise normal, it's just good to take any sort of prenatal vitamin, OTC or rx, while TTC because it helps prep your body and make sure the right nutrients are going to get to your baby immediately from conception. My GP told me to just take any OTC vitamin (I did the women's one a day) until we got PG. My OB said I could continue taking that or take any of the prescription ones he gave me samples of (I tried about 10 types before choosing the one I did).
The Women's One A Day were costing me like $18 for a package of 30 I think and now I pay $35 a month for the prescription ones. I don't love spending the extra money, but I find the Prenate Essential to be soooo much easier to swallow and easier on my stomach than anything else so I suck it up and pay more for them.
You should be ok with either kind unless your doctor specifically told you why he wanted you on a rx vitamin. You can always call the office and ask just to make sure you're not a special case. (I know you're special, Gina, that's not what I mean!!!!)

I just filled the Rx from my doc and it only cost me a $5 co-pay! Not sure about what the difference is tho..

I just love that it's only one pill to take instead of two! Plus it actually kinda tastes good on your tongue and doesn't make you gag... lol.
I just wish they weren't so expensive! If they were only a $5 co-pay I'd definitely not consider changing, but $35 a month is kinda steep.

Re: prenatals question..
My doctor said a regular multi vitamin is fine when ttc. I decided to buy cvs brand prenatals though. They are cheap and I feel fine on them. I will get rx ones when I get pg.
