prenatals
I just got prenatals from my doctor and started taking them tonight! So exciting, but I was wondering if anyone else was taking the same ones, they are called prenate elite. cost a small fortune, I knew this baby stuff would be a lot of money, but I wasn't counting on the vitamins to be a lot too!

My dr just told me to take a multi-vitamin and check that it had a certain amount of folic acid

I'm taking prenate elite....I was paying $40 with my insurance...now with DH's insurance I pay $4!!!!!!!

wow! i am paying $60 for a three month supply, so i guess its not so bad. just seems like a lot for vitamins!!

Mine too. He said 400 mcg of folic acid in an otc multivitamin was enough while ttc and he would prescribe prenatals once we got a bfp.

My doctor just gave me a pres. for elite as well.. I am not TTC yet- but she said I should have it "just in case , since I only go once a year"... so we will see

yeah, i have been taking an otc vitamin with folic acid and my doctor gave me this script a month or two ago and said to fill it this month. i am hoping that i will get pregnant soon so i wanted to be on it in case. it is expensive though, so i dont know if it takes us a long time to get pregnant, i might switch back and just take this once we get a bfp!

Yep thats the amount mine told me too
We're not trying concieve either - but I was told that it doesn't hurt to begin with a muti-vitamin. I take "1 a Day for women".

I'm on prenate elite but with my dh's insurance I think it only cost $5.
