Prenatal vitamins
My doc wrote me a prescription for prenatal vitamins and when I went to pick them up they were $55 for a 30 day supply. The pharmacist recommended the over the counter One a Day Prenatal vitamins stating that the difference between the 2 was min. and they only cost $17 for a 30 day supply.
Do you think that's ok or should I check with my doc?

you can ask the dr if there was a reason she prescribed these specifically... but my doc had no problem with me taking otc... i take the target brand...

My OB had no problem with the taking OTC when I was PG with DS. She said last week as well, that since we are TTC to make sure Im taking prenatals....and I quote "whatever brand is fine, they are all the same"

I asked my dr for a prescription and she told me she prefer I save myself the cash and take over the counter prenatal vitamins. She recommended a few brands but I'm a 7 year old at heart and bought the gummies.

I had the same issue when I went to fill mine. it was $60. I spoke to my Dr. and she called in a generic version. Now my prescription prenatal is $10. Def speak to your Dr and see what they say.

My Dr. never prescribed anything she just told me to start prenatals 3mths prior to TTC.

my doc didnt prescribe me any prenatals...i'm taking the CVS brand prenatals and he said that was fine.

My OB said the OTC are the same, she just has me take a fish oil or DHA supplement along with it. I think the prescription add them in to the prenatal.

my ob did the same thing. I had already been taking the otc and he switched me to those. when i asked why he said it had one other supplement that the otc didn't have a high enough level. I can't remember the name off hand but he said if I wanted to stay on the otc he would write me a script for that extra thing and I could stay on otc.
