Prenatal Vitamins
My hubby and I want to start trying to conceive...I just bought Prenatal Vitamins at CVS. I didn't check with my Dr. yet...Do you think this is ok? I know you have to take these a month or 2 before.

My doctor told me that you dont need prenatals before you are PG, just a regular multi. A lot of girls on here take prenatals. I actually take the CSV prenatals too! I figured it cant hurt. They dont make me sick or anything so I highly recommend them. And they are cheap - buy one get one free this week!

its fine... most of us are taking OTC Prenatals... as long as there is 800mcg of folic acid

The important thing is that you are getting enough folic acid. Most regular OTC vitamins only have 200mg of folic acid, while prenatals have anywhere from 400 to 800. There is no harm in starting a prenatal vitamin in advance.
