prenatal drs appointment........ what questions should I ask?
So I decided to make an appt with my OB since we will be starting soon .........
I have some questions that I already thought of to ask him...
1- Should I start taking the prenatal vitamins even BEFORE I start trying? 2- Which medications will I need to stay away from (my dermatologist told me that I will need to discontinue some stuff once I find out I am pregnant) 3- Talk to dr about my past history with ovarian cysts (when I was 15) and ask if I should schedule a sonogram before we start trying to see that the cysts are gone, etc., and if not, what that might mean about our time frame to get pregnant.
Oooooook, anything else I should be asking that I haven't thought of?
*Also* I saw a different doctor when I was a teenager and had the ovarian cysts... should I bother getting the medical records to show him? Those records are already pretty old
And for my last question....... when I schedule this appointment, what do I say over the phone? That I want a "prenatal appointment"? Is this a common thing to do?
Thanks ladies!

Re: prenatal drs appointment........ what questions should I ask?
I talked to my doctor about prenatal info at the last annual I had before DH and I officially began TTC. My doctor insisted that I begin taking prenatal vitamins as soon as I stopped taking BCP even if DH and I weren't TTC yet. I also asked him if there were any dietary changes that I should make. He told me that once DH and I were serious about TTC I should avoid alcohol. That's it.
I'm sure you can make an appointment just to speak with your doctor about prenatal things. Doctors aren't just for tests and examinations. They are there to answer all the questions you have. Good luck!
