yay, thank you Liz! Phew.. treading the footsteps of great future mommies, here comes the first QOTD..

Given that TTCing is stressful, and many of us are TTCing in private, all of us atleast has that one person who would just keep asking:
"what are you waiting for, you ain't gettin any younger"
"are you pregnant, you sure your not"
"don't you want kids"

With that in mind, if you could just be blunt and speak your mind, what would you say... bleeps included!!

What I am more likely to say is:

"Wow, Im suprised you assume it is easy for everyone." then smile and walk away

ok.. so I'll answer my own question

I have a ton of people in my life who keeps asking me these questions.. no I'm not "that" old.. and I got married a couple years ago.. so I'm supposedly fair game

So if I could, without anyone smacking me over the head.. would say

My DH and I would love to have kids, but I guess we didn't do it like they do it on the discovery channel, hence no babies until now.

No, I am not on BC, and no I am not puking, my face is puffy because I have gained a few lbs from drinking.

Yes, I do want to give my cat another human to boss around!! Leave me alone and go pick on someone else..

I'm pretty lucky in that I don't really have too many people close to me asking when/if we are going to try to get pregnant. It's more people that I'm not close to that harass me with those questions. My new favorite response is "we'd love to try, but we lost the lock to my chastity belt" or "I would try, but we just don't find each other all that appealing anymore". That usually shuts them up.

no one has asked me yet... a lot of people know about our loss so i think that stops them from saying anything.

I already am blunt and speak my mind. My mom (for the last year) was saying that I wasn't getting any younger, to which I replied "Gee thanks, are YOU goning to pay for my therapy?", is now asking me "why are you trying to get pregnant before your sisters wedding?"
Really? First of all, my sister LOVES kids and can't wait to be an aunt. I actually talked to her about it, and possibly being preggo in her wedding party, to which she replied "That'd be great! I think that's beautiful! I think that people who plan their lives around other peoples are silly" and then went on to tell me about a cousin of her FH who's making her sister plan her wedding around when she MIGHT be pregnant...wha?

an older cousin of mine recently asked me how did i let her become a grandmother before my mother???

my response? " well you see...your daughter got the sperm to the egg before mine" (said very sarcastically)

i really dont know what answer she was looking for...but i would have loved to say..."i didnt know it was a race to be a grandmother and mind your own business!!"

People asked me those questions before I had gotten pregnant and it bothered me a little but not that much, but after having the 2 losses when people ask now (they don't know about the losses) it is like a stab in the heart and I feel like I want to run away and cry. But I just smile and say "Im working on it."

close friends and fam know the struggle we have been in..extended fam or friends of friends first time they ask i a nice..second i ignore..anything after that i start to talk bout all the problems we have..they look horrified and embarrassed and i walk away smiling

I dont know why this question bothers me but it does. I always thought it was very personal to ask someone this, even before TTC...I usually say thats personal...myob

Not too many people ask. I usually just say "someday, we'll see." So far not too many people ask.
