Re: Pregnancy tests.
you don't HAVE to use FMU for any of them. but the HCG hormone is more concentrated in your urine first thing in the morning because you haven't been drinking or using the bathroom for several hours most likely... so if you test before AF is due and you are pregnant it will pick up that hormone.
but if you wait until after AF you probably don't need to use FMU.

Re: Pregnancy tests.
i didnt use fmu when i got my bfp. I actually tested at 9pm (10dpo) at night with clear blue easy digital (early results) and got my bfp!
if ur not going to use fmu then definitely get a FRER or early result test.
Good luck!!!

if AF is late - you don't need to use FMU. if you are testing BEFORE AF is due - that's when FMU is key!

Re: Pregnancy tests.
I'm actually big on afternoon urine lately. A couple of girls on other sites that I belong to have gotten their BFPs with afternoon urine (before AF) after holding it for 3-4 hours (like with an OPK).
The closer you test to when AF is due... the more accurate your results will be.
Basically, you can pretty much always assume that a POSITIVE that comes up within the number of minutes in the test instructions - no matter how soon before AF - is definitely positive; however, a NEGATIVE that comes up before AF is due - isn't definitely a negative. Does that make sense??
