Preemie moms: transitioning to milk?
Did anyone do it prior to 1 yr? If so, when?
DH & I are thinking of starting to transition Nicholas starting the end of the month (will be 11 months). We have a family trip planned right after his 1st birthday & do not want to do it then. We transitioned my oldest DS at 10.5 months.

i would guess on it depends how preemie your child is. it was recommended that my dd stay on extra cal formula until she was 15 months or 1 yr adjusted. I also think that keeping babies on formula for the first yr is what is suggested I work in the pediatric dept in a hosp and this is what I was told by the pediatricians

I did it at 10 months but that was with the OK from the Ped bc he felt the trio was at heathly weights and were eating table food without issues...

DS was 8 weeks premature but definately above the charts in terms of weight (25lbs) & has started to transition to table food without issue. My concern is not so much about DS not getting enough nutrients, just wondering if his belly will tolerate it.

We did not. She transitioned fine at 12 months. I didnt see the need to push it.

I am sure that as long as his weight is ok there should be no reason you cant i dont think a month would really make a difference but should be discussed with the ped...
