preeclampsia
My ob thinks I might be developing it, they told me to by a blood pressure cuff, and check my bp a few times a day. I am 33 weeks, what do they do to treat it?

Re: preeclampsia
my friend had pre-eclampsia since she was about 5 or 6 months. Basically she had her aunt (who is on the ambulance) take her blood pressure once a week until she got down to the last month or so. Then it was taken every 2 or 3 days. She also had to go into the doctor every 2-3 days.
But otherwise they didn't do anything else. No meds. No nothing.

Re: preeclampsia
I may be in the same boat too. Although at my last appointment my BP was normal my OB is worried about my excessive swelling. I am doing a 24 hour urine collection on Sunday to bring to my appointment on Monday to check for pre-eclampsia. I heard they may put you on bed rest.

I was on bedrest, they took me off last week, I normally only gain .5-1lb per week, but this week I gained 2lbs, the week I have been out of bed, that doesnt make sense to me.
I am starting to worry because I am on a treatment dose of lovenox...I am starting to feel like if something could go wrong in a pregnancy, it is going to happen to me

Don't say that You will be fine I am sure of it. Just listen to your OB and call if you have questions. Have you had any swelling?

Re: preeclampsia
I was on Blood pressure meds before I got PG. So far I had to do 3 of the 24 hr urine collections and they came back normal. For the past month or so, my BP was rising and I was swelling. They changed my meds last week and everything is normal again. They almost put me on bedrest which is all you can do with preeclampsia. I actually have a BP monitor at home and I check it twice a day. I am trying to watch my salt big time and stay as calm as possible.

Re: preeclampsia
My friend had pre-eclampsia with her second child. She was on bedrest and then was admitted to the hospital when it got really bad. She had a c-section because of her blood pressure but the baby was fine and is now one year old. The baby was born at 36 weeks.
