preeclampsia
I'm just curious... but has anyone had any experiences with preeclampsia?
My friend is 6 months pregnant and has preeclampsia. She is now on bedrest (no working). But that's it. I was surprised that she wasn't on medication or anything.
So i'm just wondering what is the normal course of action for preeclampsia. Anyone know?

Re: preeclampsia
It's pretty much going to be just bedrest. Her doctors will probably be checking her blood pressure more frequently then the normal pregnancy (possibly 1-2 times a day if needed). They'll still check her urine for excess protein. They may start checking the baby for "stress" with various stress-tests.
Otherwise, it's just bedrest. It's very important not to risk increasing her blood pressure. Tell her to rest up, take it easy and follow all the advice of her doctors. This type of diagnosis can easily lead to a premature baby if ignored.
Good luck!
