Precision Fence...got our estimate
We will need 320 feet of pvc fencing with 2 big gates over the driveway.
Then, we would need another 25 feet of the 4 foot picket fence in the front.
Grand total.....$10,200!!!!
Sound right? How many estimates should I get??

Re: Precision Fence...got our estimate
Oh God! I'll never be able to afford a new fence. I'm not sure how much I need. That sounds like a lot. I'd get as many estimates as it takes. With our front stoop, I got 6 estimates and the guy who gave us the highest price ended up doing the job because I basically put them into a bidding war and he really wanted the job. Good luck! I'm curious to hear what your other estimates will be.

Re: Precision Fence...got our estimate
Def get a bunch of estimates, they can vary. When we did ours, they varied by as much as $1000 between 2 larger companies. Did you try Rose Fence, Liberty & Amendola? We used Rose and couldn't be happier with their service & price.

That seems like a lot! We got estimates from 3 places - Rose, Liberty and another company I can't remember. We went with Liberty. Rose was only $300 higher. We got it last March and paid $2500.

I agree, definately call Rose. We are looking into a new fence as well...Rose fence came the other day although they werent able to give us an accurate estimate due to all the snow. We are having them come back in March. I heard precision is expensive so I dont even think we will bother calling them. We are also going to call Liberty and Amendola.

That price sounds correct. The money is in the fact that you are doing two big gates, and added to the back yard you are also doing a fence around the front yard. If you plan to live in your house for a long time - I recommend going with Precision. We interrviewed many other fence companies and when Rose fence came to my house, the sales guy asked who did my neighbors house, and I said Precision. He said if it was his house, he would go with them over rose. Scott

Re: Precision Fence...got our estimate
I am also going to recommend Precision... They maybe a slightly higher but you TRULY get what you pay for - They customer service, installation and sales team were great...
When Rose Fence came to my house he actually had the nerve to ask if my husband was there so he could deal with him... HOW ABOUT A BIG FAT GET OFF MY PROPERTY NOW.....
Anyway - I went with Precision and glad i did - I also have been a victim of "FENCE PLOWING" and Precision was right there to help us too....
GOOD LUCK !!!!

Re: Precision Fence...got our estimate
Bleh... no way in hell would I ever pay that kind of money for a fence.
I'd rather buy a basic home depot grade fence and pay a contractor/handyman to install it. The supposed "quality" you get from one of these hi-end fence companies does not warrant double the price.
Installing a fence isn't rocket science. I had a PVC gate installed in my old house. $450 INSTALLED by a handyman, and he provided the gate. Gate worked fine. The fence company wanted over $1000.

Totally agree! We chose Precision after getting many estimates. You will spend a little bit more but it is totally worth it, especially after seeing our neighbors fence blowing down the street a few weeks ago in that major storm. Plus they have an amazing warranty on their product. Good luck!

I guess he's honest but I think he was going another way with this. I think he was testing the waters when he said the comment. Sometimes these people do the same kind of business on the side and I think maybe with this comment this is where he was going. I could be wrong though.
