Just got a fence estimate...ETA...UPDATE BELOW!

There are so many decisions to make!!!

We opted for the wood rather than PVC b/c the PVC just would NOT go with our house.

They recommend putting stockade in the back and a nicer wood in the front for show.

Total: 5900.

My yard goes back 200+ ft.. We are fencing 150 ft. We also need three gates.

I am afraid to go with a nicer wood in the back (I don't really like the stockade) b/c it is so much yard and I don't want to pay >6000.

Opinions?

ETA*******Oops - I guess I should have been more specific. My yard goes back 200 ft., but we would need 390 Feet of Fence.

Very expensive in my opinion. Wood is now almost the price of PVC.

Are you being quoted standard stockade. That's only 10 year warranty and you have to maintain it.

My quote was just above that for PVC and 300 ft of fencing with Rose fence. 2 gates.

Last year I was quoted for summer installation between $4k and $5K for the 15 years warranty wood (not the cheaper stockade)

Damn - That is crazy. It is the 3 gates that is rising your price. I heard there is no warranty on wood.

Why dont you look into the colored PVC? You can get it in Tan or Grey too and also in two tone colors.

I got a quote of $5350 for 1 gate and 185 Feet of Solid PVC and St Louis Scallop in the front.

Just had Rose Fence Co. over. Again, we are looking at over 400ft of Cedar stockade and suprisingly...They were $1500 MORE than my last estimate! The last estimate I had was from North Shore Fence in Centereach. Well, one more estimate to go before I check us into the poor house...
