pre-natals & pee (normal or not?)
Does anyone else notice that when they pee after taking their pre-natals it is bright yellow? I am talking like neon yellow. I take my vitamin at night before bed. When I get up in the morning I notice this. Usually by the next time I go it is back to normal. Is this normal? Am I not absorbing enough of the vitamin?

Absolutely normal. Mine looks like those neon highlighters! haha. It turns that color about an hour after I take the prenatal but about 12 hours later the color is back to normal.
I'm also slightly dehydrated lately b/c I have to do that darn 4 hour OPK hold so it may even be EXTRA yellow these days.

This happens to me too. I tried 6 or 7 different brands of pre-natals and they all do that.

This is probably also true since you take them before bed. (I do too) Your digestive system slows down when you're sleeping.

It happens to me regardless of when I take it, but the more water you drink with it, the less highlighter-like it gets.
Sorry if that was TMI.

you know, I've never noticed. lol. That's funny. I usually take it in the morning with breakfast, not sure if that makes a difference. I'm going to have to start paying attention though.

My Pharmacist warned me about this so yes it is totally normal. It's the folic acid I believe. I don't take pre-natals - just the regular Women's One a Day (bc I had already bought them and am too cheap to buy a new bottle  ) and my pee is bright yellow too

yes mine is always bright yellow from any multivitamin, completely normal. although it still freaks me out sometimes!!
i did hear somewhere that if its really yellow it means your body isnt absorbing all the vitamins, but i really dont think thats completely true, cause like a PP said, if you drink a lot of water it gets less yellow.
either way i find it helpful cause its an easy way to remember if i forgot to take my vitamin

yup like day glow yellow sometimes...i'm pretty sure it's from the B6 or B12 that your body doesn't absorb HTH
