pre-natal - how much do you pay???
my prenatal went from $35 to $50 (with my insurance). If I paid without insurance they are $55 at CVS.
I called my insurance to ask why the pay increase...they told me I should have paid $50 the whole time.
If you don't mind, which prenatal do you get and how much do you pay!!!!????

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
I use Prenate Elite. I use my insurance company's mail order program so I get 90 days for $40. Do you have a mail order program? You can probaby get your current vitamin for 3 months for the price of one copay.

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
My OB visits, I have no copay for. This has been with all OB apptmts with all 3 pregnancies. and as far as prenatals. they are super friendly at my office and always give (at just about every visit) me a huge "sample" package of my vitamins, so I havent paid for a prenatal vitamin since my first pregnancy.

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
I think it's called Prima Care and my copay is $20.
Luckily, I really haven't had any side effects. I take it at night though, because I don't want to chance it giving me an upset stomach during the day (which, it hasn't given me any yet).

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
It really depends more on which vitamins your insurance company considers "formulary". I take the Duet DHA and pay $20 for a one month supply.
At $50, it sounds like your vitamins on on the "3rd tier" with your insurance company. You can call them (or go online) to find out which ones are in the lower tiers -- generic and preferred brand.

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
My doc doesn't presecribe them unless he sees a need too (like if I had severe MS and couldn't keep foods down and wasn't getting hth vitamins I needed). He tells me to just get an OTC kind. So I've been using CVS brand and I get 100 pills (about 3 months worth) for $8.99. They have everything in it, compares to Stuart's Duet.

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
My insurance company (oxford) said that they have no "generic" brand and they couldn't recommend something less expensive for me. Through the mail order program, it costs me two copays for 90 days worth. My copay at the pharmacy is $50 a month - which I think is rediculus!
My doctor has been very good about giving samples (so far) but I am only 12 weeks now and don't know if it will continue.

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
I had the same issue with our insurance company. All the prenatals were either tier 2 or tier 3. Would have cost us at least 30 bucks a month.
I take CVS prenatals, ok'd by my dr, no side effects for me, and I pay 8.99 for 100 pills. Can't beat that!

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
My doctor's are smart and have a list of the different insurances and what the co-pays are for what pre-natals- so mine is $10

Re: pre-natal - how much do you pay???
I took primacare for the first 6 months and paid almost 50.00 a month, it wasnt covered by insurance. Then my doctor switched to Duet Dha and i pay nothing now, insurance covers the entire thing.
