Pre-Conception Physical
who does it? primary care physician or ob/gyn? if its my ob/gyn and i already had my yearly visit in december, is this considered an ADDITIONAL visit that i have to pay for out of pocket or is it included? TIA!

Re: Pre-Conception Physical
When I went for my regular visit with my OB/GYN she asked if I was planning to TTC soon and I said yes in a few months. She just did the exam and basically wished me luck.
SIL said when she went they did a full blood work up.
I'm not sure which is "right", maybe every doctor does it differently?

Re: Pre-Conception Physical
I went for my yearly and my gyn did a regular check up and say everything seems good to go and have fun TTC.
I did go to my PCP for a routine physical and he did regular blood work.

Re: Pre-Conception Physical
I went to my ob for physical exam/pap and my regular doctor for physical with blood work/urine analysis. Check with your insurance, you may be allowed one OB check up per calendar year, they may not have to actually be 12 months apart.

Re: Pre-Conception Physical
I told my OB and he just did a regular check up... my physician did a few extra tests she normally doesn't do when I usually go for my annual physical. She was actually way more helpful/informative than my OB...
You may not need another visit to the OB.
