Pre-approval questions...
Do most banks charge you to apply for pre-approval? What's avg cost? How long is the turn around?

We were not charged for pre-approval. I believe we got a response within 24 hours.

we got pre approval from several places and werent charged and did recieve them immedietly from some places in hours and others by the next day

no charge for the pre-approval...and we had two done..one based on the sale of our co-op and the other in 24 hours with no contingency.

I have a mortgage with Chase now and they apparently charge to apply for pre-approval, I also cked with Greenpoint and it's $450.

Try HSBC, they had given us pre-approval at no charge.
