Potty training question

DD is 26 months old.
She is going on the potty but is more time trained than anything. I watch to see if she is dry and put her on. If she has to go she will go if not she won't.

She is starting to tell me after she went pee pee in her diaper, especially in the morning. She usually wakes up dry and if I don't go in and get her fast enough she will go in her diaper and then tell me.

My question is how long did it take for your DC to be able to tell you they had to go? Any tips/pointers on how to get there?

i trained DD by using the 3 day methond and its stresses that you dont ask them to go potty but just constantly remind them like every 5-10 minuntes to tell you if they have to go. it worked she was trained in 3 days and tells me when she needs to go potty.

maybe you can try that instead of asking her just remind her to tell you when she has to go.

i should say she is not trained at night but she also hasnt ever woke up dry even before tranining her

I took a weekend and said this is it. DD will be 3 in May and she's been trained about 2 months now.

No diapers, i actually hid them so she couldn't see them and just put her in undies. Sometimes nothing if that's what she wanted. At first I reminded her constantly. Then as time went on I looked for her cues, dancing, holding, whining, her telling me.

It was a stressful weekend but when they are ready it's so easy. I literally started after nap Friday afternoon and by Sun night fully trained even night time. we had a few minor accidents and 1 big one over the whole weekend. At night we had a few if she drank after 7 pm even if she went before bed but maybe like 3 in 2 months.

She would tell me sometimes when she peed in the diaper but more so when she pooped.

It was amazing and we have never looked back. Now if she sees her diapers I say they are for the baby.

DD will tell me if she has to poop, but she is still not great with telling me about pee. I have her little potty where she can get to it without my help. It is still a struggle. She turned three two weeks ago.
