Potty Training Help Needed
I haven't posted in awhile, but I am seriously at my wits end with my DD (she just turned 3).
We have been potty training for what feels like forever at this point. She is in school 5 days a week. 2 days a week, she is at Montessori school and she goes the entire day, naptime included, no accidents ever. 3 days a week, she goes to a religious program, wears a pull up, goes to the potty with the rest of the class. She was doing great and we had poop down, pee was still somewhat of an issue, until recently. Once we really started showing an interest, that was it. She will fight us, refuse to go to the potty, even make her body rigid so she won't have to go. She will laugh at us when she has an accident and I know some of it is just her being a toddler and not understanding that she can't wait until the last second to go, the other part is definitely a control thing for her. I have tried to bribe her with Build a Bear, American Girl Place to no avail. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am so sick of buying diapers. Her Montessori teacher said she is completely ready for the potty and she apparently goes on her own there without any prodding.
What do I do? I am at a loss and I am so frustrated. I probably wouldn't push it as much if it were not for Montessori making such a big deal out of the fact that three year olds must be potty trained.

have her start cleaning her own accidents at home.. maybe that will make her stop laughing at you when she does it!!

Potty Training Help Needed
at home, do you take her to the potty every 10 mins or so? Let her drink a lot and take her to the potty every 10 mins. Let her sit there until she has to go. and repeat every 10 mins. That's what I did until she finally got it. Now she goes on her own without me even bringing her.

I started letting DS only use the ipad if he sat on the toilet. It helped alot with potty training. We are not 100% but almost there.

Ugh, Lin, she is killing me. She can be so sweet, and then suddenly be such a little brat. I will try that though. Maybe she will take a hint if we make her clean herself up and refuse to react. You know that she has been a PITA since the moment she was born! We have to do lunch soon mama. Miss you

Problem is that I am working very full time and she is with my parents the other three days a week. I am begging them to do that, but they said she will literally hold her body so rigid that you cannot even get her on the potty. Today, I am working from home and she has been cooperative (I let her bring her leap pad to the potty, which helps). I wish she was consistent. I think I am going to have to really impress this concept on them.

When I potty trained my DD there were no more diapers. Pull ups are still diapers. If you've had success over a period of time I wouldn't put her in diapers at all anymore. Ever. Let her have accidents. When she feels wet, dirty and uncomfortable she will get it very quickly, especially because she already knows the right thing to do.

We had similar issues for my DD I got her the melissa and doug sticker roll and it has been working for us. She get 2 stickers for pee and 5 for poo.
