potty training at day care

We are not there yet, DS will be 2 next week and is not quite ready yet. I know we will be some day, hopefully soon. But there is alot of drama at our day care about potty seats.

After a state inspection, they have restricted the use of potty seats, rather than choose to clean each child's self supplied seat properly after each use.

What do your day cares to in terms of potty seats. Do they allow/use them? What is the process like at other day cares when it comes to potty training.

our daycare does not let us bring potty seats either. they have small kid-size toilets so thats what dd uses. the first few days the teacher said it seemed like she was scared of the potty but she got it by the end of the week...they encouraged her to go by bringing stickers to the potty with her

DD was pretty much potty trained by daycare so they must have done something right! Chat Icon

They do not use potty seats. In the 2 and 3 year old rooms they had smaller toilets- lower to the ground than standard adult toilets, so it was very easy and less intimidating for the children.

My Daycare does not let seats. They have tiny toilets made just for the little ones. So they are able to sit on them and not worry about falling in and they are littler person height.

They also just go with whatever you are doing at home. They asked us when he started showing interest at school if they could go with it...I said yes but we aren't pushing anything at this point so if he gets crazy just let it go. When I was ready to really start I emailed the director and also talked t his teacher and gave them the heads up on our plan and they ran with it. They were a big help in the process and not sure it would have been so easy without them.
