Re: Potty Training a Boy
We just bought a little potty seat that sits on top of the regular toilet. For me, the idea of having to clean pee out of a little potty is just not something I wanted to do. Plus, it's one less transition I had to worry about.
They sell tons of different kids potty rings in the stores. Just buy whatever character your son likes.

We had a little potty and a seat. He liked the seat on the toilet better. Each kid is different though. Some are scared of the big potty

Re: Potty Training a Boy
We started with the little potty until he was comfortable with a seat on the big one... Now to get him to pee standing up....
Using the arm and hammer potty seat. It fits oblong seats well.

We like the bjorn potty seat (goes on the regular toilet, fits nicely compared to another we tried). I regret starting with the separate little potty. It's just an extra step having to clean it.

Thanks ladies! I'm leaning toward the toilet attachment but your input is super helpful!

The little potty we had sang to my son and scared him so bad he never went on it again. So we bought a potty seat for the big potty and never looked back.

Same for both boys - neither one ever used the little potty.

We also had the little seat that fits over the regular toilet. And I never taught him to pee standing up - there's no way in heII I was going to clean pee off everything anytime he had to go. He recently started peeing standing up (he's 6) - I assume b/c he sees other kids doing it at school.
