postpartum visit

did you bring your baby to your ob/gyn pp visit? i have a 4 week visit following a c/s coming up. I didn"t want to take the baby to any public places until she was 6-8 weeks but i may not have a choice... what did you do?

DD did come with me to my postpartum visit at 6 weeks. I think it's pretty common to have them there. My dr. was happy to see her, too!

I brought him. I just left him in his carseat, with the bundleme on and he just slept the whole time. I just put the seat on the floor of the exam room, next to the chair, kind of out of the way. I don't think it's really a big deal, because they are totally contained in the seat (you could even cover it with a blanket if you want, but I def don't think that's necessary), and it's not the type of Drs office where you are dealing with lots of contagious illness.

I made my appointment on the weekend so DH stayed home with DD but if I had to bring her, I would have. I would just have left her in the car seat and put the canopy up so no one touches her. GL

Mine was the day she turned 6 weeks and I brought her. I had no choice! She has barely been out otherwise, but I know pregnant women have to stay healthy too, so I figured it would be a pretty sterile environment anyway. She slept the whole visit.
