postpartum health issues in southern region*Update*
I feel like my body is falling apart! It started with postpartum preeclampsia that landed me back in the hospital two days after I had come home with DS. I also had HEELP syndrome and a UTI piggybacking on the preeclampsia. My UTI did not clear up so I was back on antibiotics for the week and took my last pill on Thursday, I'm BF so they gave me cephalexin.
Yesterday, the day after finishing antibiotics for the UTI, I developed chills and had a fever. I was also still feeling uncomfortable, but not in a UTI way, I was feeling very sore in my vjay and discovered two painful lumps on my labia....wtf now??? I don't think they are ingrown hairs... both are over the size of a dime and one is near the front and one in the back but both are on the labia. I've also been having a dull headache, lower back pain, and some pain on and off in my legs. I had a vaginal delivery 3 weeks ago tomorrow and did have an episiotomy. I have taken care of the area as directed and recently stopped using the peribottle and returned to wiping.
I don't know what to think. My BP is back to normal so I don't think I'm relapsing with the preeclampsia, which I was told could happen, plus my symptoms are a bit different. I finished all of the antibiotics so I would think my UTI is gone especially after three rounds of antibiotics in the hospital and just finished another at home. The fever and chills came back today but I'm not sure what the infection could be and if these painful vjay lumps have anything to do with it.
Anyone experience anything like this? None of my Dr.'s offices are open until Monday and I'm not sure this warrants a trip back to the ER.
***Update***
I saw my OB today and she confirmed that it is cysts and they most likely are abscessing. Since I no longer have a fever and had already been using the sitz bath at home (and they are getting smaller and one is starting to drain on it's own) she offered me the option of antibiotics and continuing the sitz baths along with hot compresses on the area or she could lance and drain them. I opted for option A. She also swabbed them for a culture to see what strain of bacteria it is. She said it's possible I may have picked it up in the hospital when I had postpartum preeclampsia. Thanks for all your responses girls...it made me feel better that I wasn't the only one who had this condition. This little boy has made sure he's my last baby!

I agree. I've called for much less and the doctors have always taken their time to hear me out and give me advice.

The only symptom of yours I experience was severe soreness down there. I also had an episiotomy. I was barely able to walk. They actually offered me a walker in the hospital. The doctor said sometimes the way the baby comes out stretches your public bone. It took a good 6 weeks before the pain went away completely. As far as your other symptoms, I'd call the doctor.

Def call your dr. I got a staph infection 6 weeks postpartum from an unhealed episiotomy.

I had something similar happen after my last baby. I am not sure if it was related to my autoimmune issues or not but I was in pain. I was so swollen (and lumpy) and sore down below. He was my easiest baby and was very close to being a bed birth since I didn't know he was crowning. But it was a painful recovery. I thought I had a uti since it hurt so much to pee. I had to use the peri bottle and fill it with warm water. I would spray as I was peeing and that was the only way I wasn't brought to tears every time I had to pee. It finally got better about 5-6w pp. I would still call the doc since it can be a sign of infection esp if you develop a fever.

I agree.
I suffer from them. I agree 100% call it in. Just like our babies, sometimes too much antibiotics can cause our immune system to go haywire. I got them when my hormones were on overload. Like teenage gal version in an adult body trying to find a way 'out'.
It could be a cyst/pimple like thing in a VERY bad place. They are in a warm, wet place that can't heal as fast and they can be very painful. they can get 'under the skin' if you will and swell.
I suffered with one for WEEKS until I finally got over my embarrassment and went in. I could barely walk. And I could NOT sit. I was horrified. Only to find out LOTS of women get them at different times of their life or not at all. High stress or even simple chafing can cause it as well.
Doc called me stupid. For suffering. I was never so embarrassed in my life!
Infection is (as always) the thing to avoid.

I had this after my second DD was born. It was such a rotten delivery experience. I was on and off antibiotics for about 2 months then I got swollen down there they put me back on antibiotics and it cleared up, not fun! I remember being terrified that they would have to use a needle and drain it, lol.
