Postpartum bleeding question (TMI)
I had a c/s 7 1/2 weeks ago. I really didn't bleed much for the first week, but then after that I did have some bleeding which tapered off to spotting. Then at 4 weeks pp I started with a medium/heavy flow and bright red blood so I assumed it was my period. Well I have been bleeding like that for 3 1/2 weeks now. I was at my OB last week and she said if I was still bleeding this week I have to go for a sono (so tomorrow I am going for one). Has this happened to anyone else and if so what was it? My OB said it was my period so I just can't figure out why it's still hanging around. This just stinks

I bled for about 6 1/2 weeks after my second c/s, pretty heavy. Dr said at 6 weeks that it was OK.

After my c-section I bled for about 6 weeks or so. It was heavy for the first 2-3 weeks and then tapered off to mostly spotting, but I'd have some days when it was heavier.

Yeah well that's the wierd thing for me. I was spotting for the first 4 weeks and then it got heavy so it just seems strange. Hopefully that's all it is though!

Hopefully your doc will be able to give you answers tomorrow and I'm sure everything will be ok.

same here, and then 2 days later AF showed up

Yeah this is actually going on with me now...I started my period on 10/22...and had my IUD put in two days later....I'm still bleeding, although its tapering off...I called my OB last week and they said if I'm still bleeding this week to call and they will check me out.
They said most likely its my body adjusting to the hormones in the mirena.
