post vaginal delivery pain? Warning, TMI....
For moms who had vaginal deliveries, how long was there pain "down there?" I had no real pain until a few days after, and now it seems unbearable at times. I must admit i made DH look and so did I...I think I have some ulcerations (I did not need an episiotomy), but I am concerned that it may be a UTI. It hurts when I urinate, but I am not sure it is the ulcers. TMI, I know, but I am starting to think I may need a earlier appt with the OBGYN.

how long are you post partum??
I had MAJOR pain down there, to the point where I couldn't sit or even lay down. It hurt to stand, walk, pee, poop it lasted until almost 3 weeks PP and then randomly just went away overnight.
I did tear though (3rd degree) so I knew that contributed to it as well

I tore so only a few stitches.
It sounds to me like you're describing pain much worse than I had. I would call for an appointment.
Hope you're better soon

Re: post vaginal delivery pain? Warning, TMI....
I tore a lot, had an episiotomy and... in my ob's words "my v- was crushed from the delivery".
I was on motrin for 2 weeks, and topical anestheics for about 4 weeks, pain gradually started to go away and by 6 weeks I was perfect.
Till I saw OB at 6 weeks, and see saw some scaring that wasn't right, she "burned it off" OWWWIE! ugh .. then another 2 weeks of topical anesthetics and now at 3 months PP I am almost back to normal.
still hurts like h*ll!
I never had an issue with urinating. The most painful part of it was squatting to the toilet. I figured I had to learn to pee standing up
If its not feeling right to you, see an OB. My OB told me upfront, its going to be a nightmare first few weeks for me. It was.

Re: post vaginal delivery pain? Warning, TMI....
How many weeks PP are you?
I tore, BADLY, and was in BAD shape down there after with a ton of stitches. My pain kept getting worse instead of better as the weeks went on.
Finally a week and a half after I delivered I went back to my OB to have her check it out.
Turns out I had a hematoma which, for lack of a better word, she needed to pop. Its more or less a blood clot that formed from a blood vessel bursting from pushing. The hematoma was putting pressure on my stitches and causing me SO much pain. I couldnt walk, stand, sit, lay down.
Needless to say, she took care of it, which hurt like a mofo, but the second she was done I felt SO much better.
I was "better" about 2 weeks later (a month altogether)....still sore for another month, and it was another month after that, that I finally felt well enough to attempt sex (3 mos PP)
My point being, go to your OB and have her check it out. There could be something so simple going on, like me, and I suffered for too many unnecessary days instead waiting for it to get better instead of just going in.

Re: post vaginal delivery pain? Warning, TMI....
I just had my baby on Friday and I had stitches too!! I was in pain but not terrible. however, the day that i came home frm the hospital it did hurt to urinate. I thought I had a UTI so i just keep changing my pads frequently and using the bootle to clean the area. I'm just tryin to keep it as clean as possible. Luckily, the pain is goin away and it's been 5 days and i feel great.
hope u get better soon!

I had episiotomies with both boys and had no pain at all (besides just feeling sore). I would definitely call. Good Luck

Re: post vaginal delivery pain? Warning, TMI....
I definitely had pain the first 2-3 weeks, but I did have an episiotomy. I dreaded using the bathroom and could barely open my legs I went to the OB at two weeks pp and she said everything was fine and to just to keep it clean. I used the bottle they give you for water and some spray they gave me all the time to ensure I did not get an infection.
I am impressed you looked down there, I am petrified and don't think I ever will again
It was tough but I am now four weeks pp and I don't feel anything except some tingling sometimes. It kind of happened overnight, I suddenly felt better and stopped bleeding
If you are very worried I would at least call your OB to tell them whats going on. I hope you feel better soon
