Post Coital Test
Ok, next question from me. After seeing my Ob and having some tests done that everything came back clear, next step was for dh to get a SA. All was clear once again and now he wants me to do the PCT. I asked about the HSG b/c I feel that is what most people on here have mentioned, but he wants to do the PCT first. What do we think? Any experience? I really know very little about this test. Thanks!

Re: Post Coital Test
From what I understand, the post-coital just involves you and DH BDing, then going to the RE so they can take a swab of your cervical mucous and see the interaction between the sperm and CM (e.g., how motile is the sperm?)

Re: Post Coital Test
First of all, thank you for responding so quickly. Do you think it is strange that my dr wants to do that before the HSG? I just feel that after reading on here, especially, most people do that test first. I also am waiting to O (CD 12 today), so I need to be ready to call dr as soon as we bd after. He mentioned getting into the office for the test no more than 6 hours after bding- how is that possible??? Sorry for the rambling!

Well I think it's good to do the post-coital since it's much less invasive!
Once you know that's fine... then go for the HSG.
It makes more sense to have the HSG fist in theory, because if your tubes are blocked, then it doens't really matter what your CM is like if your eggs can't get through.. but it IS less invasive so IDK
What's the latest appointment they have? Maybe if you can get a late appointment and then just BD after work?
