Possum in my yard....
So, for the last few nights when we've had to take Daisy outside after dinner for her nightly business, there has been a possum in our backyard scouring the yard for food (I guess). It runs away as soon as I step outside. Now, I turn the light on first and carry Daisy outside with me before she is allowed to hit the ground, I look around.
PLUS, for the last week Daisy will not sit still at night in bed, she's always at alert in the house and growls when we hear nothing. This all started when we saw the possum.
So...
What possibly invites possum into our backyard?
And how the h e ll can I get rid of it?
TIA!

Re: Possum in my yard....
I don't know what attracts them, I'm sorry! Every year I get one in my yard, and then it gets chased down by my Rottie and my Shepherd and all bets are off.
Maybe call the Town and see what they can do?
GOod luck!

Thanks. I'll try that.
Do possums live in trees, or do they burrow? Does anyone know?

Do possums live in trees, or do they burrow? Does anyone know? They usually nest in a tree hollow. I think that they do not have the claws to dig, if I remember correctly.
