Positive FFN
Here we go again!
With DS, I had a positive FFN and delivered DS 2 weeks later at 30w4d.
My OB did an FFN yesterday at 31w1d with twins and it came back positive. I'm in L&D waiting for my steroid shot.
I hope this is a fluke, I was really hoping to avoid the NICU this time around. I guess I'm just venting.

Re: Positive FFN
Hopefully its just a fluke....I know someone who tested positive for FFN for almost 7 weeks.... so you never know.
She was a singleton....so i'm assuming that may change it slightly...
Good luck!!!

Positive FFN
Thanks girls. I know a negative test means more, but I'm just wondering if my history and the fact that it is twins means more. I have to talk to my OB

Re: Positive FFN
What is FFN? I figure it's a term for pre term labor. I don't ever remember getting tested for this.
Hopefully everything goes okay for you and you can make it a few more weeks.

Thank you.
FFN is a test to predict your chances of pre-term labor. When negative, it means there is about a 99% chance of NOT going into labor within 2 weeks. When it is positive.... It means you are high risk for going into labor within 2 weeks. The percentages are different everywhere you look and it also depends on your history and any other symptoms.
Fetal fibronectin is the "glue" tha holds LO in they do a swab for it in higher risk women and those with a history of PTL.
