Anyone else tested positive for FFN (Fetal Fibronectin)?
I tested positive for it. I am so upset. I understand that it doesn't necessarily mean I'll go into labor, but the thought freaks me out. Can you tell I am freaking out.....I can't sleep...it's 4:30 am!!!
I had cramping on Sunday and Monday (not intense cramping.) Saw the doctor on Monday. They were upset that I didnt go in sooner. Everything else was fine.....the baby, my cervix, but the ffn. I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat for about 45 minutes when they hooked me up to the ekg. She was very active doing flips. She tripped up the monitor several times.
At my job, I usually travel to different sites. But, now I am going to take it easy and do light desk work. Today, I am staying home and drinking lots of fluids.
The pregnancy had been going well until recently. I just need to hold onto to 36 weeks (they moved up my due date due to a myomectomy 2 years ago)
Thanks for listening! Am I the only one of the board who tested positive?

As you can see I can't sleep either. I never heard of FFN but I wanted to offer you hugs. I am sure everything wil lbe fine. Try to get some rest and relax today. Pregnancy can be the best and worst time for us at the same time. While we are truly blessed and so excited to meet and love our babies we are so full of anxiety and worry all the time praying for their safe arrival. (I wish there was a huggy with a smiling face instead of a sad one.)

Everytime I tested for it, I was negative. I can only imagine how scary a positive is, but a negative result is more accurate than a positive....meaning that even though it says positive, labor does not have to be coming in the next 2 weeks. Did you have *relations* within 24 hours before the test by any chance? I know that can cause a false positive

Re: Anyone else tested positive for FFN (Fetal Fibronectin)?
I've had it done twice, both times were negative, but what the dr. told me was if it is neg then there is a 99% chance I won't go into labor in the next two weeks, and if its positive then it doesn't mean anything.
