Poppy Seeds
I finished eating my bagel earlier and I noticed there were a couple of stray poppy seeds on my plate (it was an onion bagel.) I took one of the poppy seeds to my husband, placed in it his hand and said "Isn't it crazy that our son was this size once?" I then expressed his size now (this week, the size of an ear of corn! )
It's just so crazy how our children grow inside of us. At almost 25 weeks, it never ceases to amaze me how we have created a human life. Not to mention, how much our lives have already changed without even meeting the one person we love most in this world.
I write this as our son kicks from inside of me and loving every moment of it.

Re: Poppy Seeds
The process of creating life is so amazing.
I look at my 2 year old DS all the time and say wow, we created this person. Brain, heart, fingers, toes. Just from a moment of love.
It really leaves me in awe.

Re: Poppy Seeds
it really really really amazes me. it always has even before i was thinking about kids of my own.
i said to DH yesterday - imagine we had the very first pictures of ourselves when we were only a few weeks old? right now at 6 weeks i have a picture of our baby. if all goes well one day that child has a peek at what they looked like at 6 weeks old - when they were the size of a lentil! it's crazy!
it really is a miracle. it's amazing what the body can do!

Re: Poppy Seeds
It really is so incredible. we went for our 12 week sono last week and to see just the amount of development that happened between 6 weeks and 12 weeks blew my mind. I cant get over it! I cant believe our bodies are doing that while we go about our day. Amazing!!

Re: Poppy Seeds
aw I love this!!! I def think the same thing. Especially when he is moving around and kicking I just find it so phenomenal. . .and I feel so lucky to get this experience. I feel bad for DH sometimes that he doesnt get to feel this life inside of him even though he def had a hand in getting it there!
And will you please repost this or remind me of this again when we are at 38 weeks!

Re: Poppy Seeds
When I first found out I was pregnant with my DS, I read that he was the size of a poppy seed.
From there, we started calling him Poppy throughout the entire pregnancy.
And then my dad decided he wanted to be called "Poppy" so the name lives on!

Re: Poppy Seeds
I cannot believe how fast they grow, even from week to week, or what new things they can do. Also I am really amazed at how quickly I grow too! My belly just keeps getting bigger even in a week.
