POLL: What did you do when switching from formula to milk?
I've been thinking about this a lot since DD will be 1 in August and we are going to switch her to milk soon... what did you do when you switched to milk? Did you get rid of the bottles or continue to put milk (instead of formula) in the bottle for a while?
DD seems to be pretty attached to the bottle and every night lately i'm just thinking about how the bedtime routine will go. She gets her last bottle immediately before bed. We sit in the glider and she lays on me and drinks her bottle (I hold it while she twirls her hair and rubs my arm - she refuses to hold it even though I know she can) and once she's done she turns around into me and lays with her head on my shoulder for a few minutes then into her crib.
Anyone have a similar bedtime routine? Did it change when you switched to milk? I still have a month or so before we switch but I've just been thinking about it a lot lately.

I never put milk in bottles nor did I put formula in sippys....we transitioned miki at 11.5 months to whole milk, it took about a week, I elimiated one bottle for a day or two and replaced it with a sippy of milk

Re: POLL: What did you do when switching from formula to milk?
DS is 16m old and I still give him a bottle of milk in the morning when he wakes up and one at night. The rest of the day he gets sippy cups. He likes his bottle and I see nothing wrong with him getting two a day. I think of it as long as he is drinking milk, then the bottle is fine for now. I plan on stopping it around 2.
I have the exact same bed time routine. The only difference is now after the night time bottle I have to brush his teeth. Since DS has a ton of teeth.
I say do what works best for your DD. As long as she is not drinking from a bottle all day, then she is fine.

We just started DS on milk. We're doing an ounce of milk to 7 oz. of formula for a few days, then upping the milk, etc. He refuses to drink from a sippy cup. We are giving him his bottles as usual.

Re: POLL: What did you do when switching from formula to milk?
I have pretty much the same bedtime routine. When I transitioned to milk, we still used bottles, and we still do now. He is very attached/used to the bottle, so I see no need to stop yet, but will soon try to wean to only a morning and night bottle.
He will drink water or juice from a straw sippy, but doesn't like to drink milk from one....and I am 7 months preggo and too tired to fight with him on that one right now.
