Please vote in the poll, no need to respond with any other add'l info unless you feel you must, trying to avoid drama. Just discussing with a friend and this is the most anon place I can think of to get a sample

Edit: what YOU yourself earn. Not you + your DH

This year I earned between $50-$100K.

Before that, as a sub, I earned under $20K.

I will be starting a new job in a week, and making under $50K.

I think that depends on the career. Some careers will never get to that point no matter what just because of the type of career.

I am an attorney now but long ago I was an interior designer. I would never make what I do now if I was still a designer.

Now it is only about $25k, but I barely work part time. Prior to DS being born, I was making $125K.

Please note, I do not pay for childcare, I take off whenever I need to, and basically the money I earn is just play money for me.

I def agree some careers will never see that much. I could if I really wanted to and tried really hard In My company there a possibility to make that much.

Good for you for changing careers. You deserve what you make. I always toyed with the idea of going back to school to become a lawyer but never had the guts too. Now it's most likely too late!

Could be financial industry. Bank, Hedge Fund, Private Equity. Could be a VP or higher up at an agency (advertising, PR, etc.)

In my field high level network engineers and architects make well into the 6 figures. As do Senior project managers and management executives

I am in the $150-$200k range with potential to move into the next range soon. I Work in public accounting At the manager level for a long time. I work a lot during a 4 month period and then 9-5 for the majority of the year so I think it's a great profession to be in!

I am in the 150-200k range. I am a small business owner and work approximately 25 hrs a week...sometimes 20 :) If I was an employee in my profession I would make much less and ofcourse be working crazy hours.

I no longer work in retail but higher-up positions easily are able to garner $150k-$200k annually. The average buyer makes about $100k, with some i know making about $130k. Analysts can also negotiate a bit higher. I left my former job after being in the $150k-$200k range only because i travelled to LA every two weeks and never saw my family. I will admit that i do miss the extra income though.

Re: Poll for working moms

Between 50k and 100k. If I made less than 50k it wouldn't make sense to keep working. But I bring in half our household income right now.

Although i bet most will fall into it, I think 50-100 is a big gap. 50 is a huge diff from 80.

I agree.

I'm a NYC teacher so I've been in the 50-100 gap for a while and will be for a while. The raises are small each year but since our new contract we are getting retro and raises and will be moving salaries quicker. One day I will make 6 figures...I will NEVER make over 150 though.
