POLL - which stencil for my DR wall?
found a pic of my DR - it's the wall in the background (we have new furniture):
I have a chair rail and pic frame molding on the bottom. The wall is I don't know - 16-17 ft wide? And then whatever size from the chair rail to ceiling.... It would be stenciled on just one wall.
trellis:
vase and pearls:
english damask:
french damask:
maya's rose:
I have these curtains:
It's a tan room, with wood floors, and espresso colored furniture - very traditional.

I would do the trellis since the damask ones look too close to the pattern of the curtains.

That's the one I initially wanted but then I thought the other patterns would be more forgiving - like if my wall isn't a perfect rectangle, kwim?

vase and petals. Closer to the curtains. I would make almost a tone on tone with the paint with little contrast so it would be very subtle.

I would do the trellis but in a very subtle shade-maybe just a shade darker on the paint strip and a sheen level up. think of expanding the trellis around the windows or restricting it to a smaller area on the long wall.

I completely agree!
I normally love trellis but I feel would be a bit too modern for the curtains. But it could just be the color in the sample is throwing me for a loop

Thanks all - I decided to go with the trellis.
I'm going to keep the base color the same and do a bronze color for the trellis. Debbie Viola is doing the stencil and I'm going to ask her if we should maybe do a color wash or something to it to soften it up...
The bronze color is the color of our chandelier - it's more of an old-world bronze color instead of a bronze-bronze if you know what I mean...
