Police Rant...update @ bottom
Grrrrr........ As some may know my younger brother is out of control, drugs, alcohol, and ver bally abusive....He punches holes in walls, and is just crazy!!
Anyways.... my mom just called me saying he's locked her out of her room, took the house phone, her keys, her cigarettes etc..... as a punishment to her for not allowing him to go out to this party where there is underage drinking...
She is sick as it is...and she called me from her cell just saying whats going on, and i hear him yelling in the background "its only gonna get worse" then she hung up.....
Besides the fact, im the only one here w/ RJ and I dont wanna bring him around this violence....he's not gonna listen to me..
So in turn I called the 6th precinct and asked if they could send a car over and handle him.....Police deal w/ outta control teens all the time...none the less i wanna make sure my mom is ok...
The guy was so nasty n sarcastic and said y cant she call herself shes not tied up... i explained that her calling in front of him would make it worse... I also explained how my dad is in iraq and shes there alone with him.... He said im just a 2nd party and theres nothing they can do....
Then they wonder why some kids are as bad as they are or why domestic abuse occurs......cuz some cops are too f-ing lazy to do the right thing!

I just wanted to add... I guess if the girl upstairs was getting beat by her husband I shouldnt call because theres nothing they can do for im just a 2nd party

That is awful. Maybe you can call back the precinct and ask to talk to someone in charge - that is just crazy.
I hope everything works out and that your mom is ok!!!

I didnt know that badge gave him the right to be an @sshole...to someone who was trying to do the right thing!

can't you call and pretend to be your mother? or call 911 as a concerned neighbor reporting a domestic dispute....then they have no choice.

Calling as a neighbor..apparently dosent matter this cop doesnt care anout the 2nd party call
Rose- yes I could call 9-11.....I didnt do that @ 1st because I didnt consider it a real emergency....but thats the way im gonna have to go....

Apparently- my mom decided to call herself not knowing I called....so an officer is on his way....
I NEVER say anything bad about cops but this guy is why cops get the PIG stereotype!

My understanding is that if you want a police officer to respond, you MUST call 911. You cannot call a precinct - the officer must respond through a dispatch call. Maybe the officer you called should have told you that.
I hope things get better for your mom.

It's cops like that who live up to the pig stereotype. That is just ridiculous. 2nd party my foot. You are concerned and need an officer over there. God for bid the situation was worse what would they have done. UH hearing things like that gets me so mad.
I do hope your mom is alright and glad to know she called the police.

Maybe it's different in FL but if you call the police at a non 911 call they still show up. We had an incident that was non emergency and we called the police at the preceint number and it took a little longer for a response but an officer did show up.
