Plug in air fresheners
I have the glade plug ins in every room of the house and use the febreeze noticeables in the bedroom. I put a refill in the bedroom 2 days ago and yesterday had a lazy day in bed. Well I feel like the plug in smelled so strong and I've had a headache since. Have any of you heard of or know if these are safe to use during pregnancy?? I just unplugged the one in the bedroom, but of course now I'm worried about any harm it may have already caused. I'm around 7 weeks.

I have been wondering the same thing. I unplugged the one in my bedroom but left the others.
I stopped wearing perfume because I read somewhere that perfumes and colognes have chemicals linked to ADD or something like that. Air freshner is chemicals so I doubt they are 100% safe even when you aren't pregnant just like almost everything else we come into contact with on a daily basis

Re: Plug in air fresheners
Maybe I'm wrong, but I decided to throw caution to the wind on this one. I, too, read that you shouldn't use anything that had "fragrance" in it. I tried for maybe a day... and then gave up. As good as I was being with everything else, I decided to smell good and have my house smell good during my pregnancy.
I use Bath and Body Works Body Spray, scented sun screen, Wallflowers in the bathrooms and have even lit a candle or two in the past 9 months. I've continued to use my regular shampoo/conditioner, face wash, toner, moisturizing cream, body wash, deodorant, Intuition razor, etc.
I don't know for a fact that it doesn't have an effect, but in this department, I decided to not drive myself crazy.

You're fine. It's just your sniffer in over drive. It'll pass later in the pg or after you have DC. It's more of a personal scent issue and just adjust accordingly!

Re: Plug in air fresheners
I have a parrot and they have really sensitive respiratory systems and no air fresheners can be used around them. My theory is if it's bad for them it's bad for you. Our bodies can just tolerate more. I would not use it. My thoughts are it's along the lines of a cleaner. It's not natural.

That's what I think too. Think how many moms wear perfume, or sit at a desk next to someone who overdoes it with the cologne. And how many times a day we're exposed to "fragrance" - cleaning products, hairspray, shampoo... it's all day, every day. Your baby is fine; you're just super-sensitive to strong smells.

I have a wallflower in every room of the house and light at least 4 candles daily. It makes me happy and is very relaxing, especially now that fall is coming, I can't wait to break out my pumpkin stuff!

Michaels has their fall candles out and had a coupon a few weeks back, plus they were on sale. So I stocked up! Let's just say that I'm good til the new year hahaha
Awesome flavors like pumpkin pie, spice market, cinnamon roll, maple nut bread (yummm), fall folliage (one of my faves), apple cinnamon, plus more!
