Please share what your 9mo is eating
Hi everyone! My Dd is a bit over 9 months old and I'm having trouble thinking of table food that is appropriate for her. She only has two bottom teeth and does pretty well with her gums but the one time I gave her little pieces of chicken she gave up after a few pieces because her poor little jaw was so tired. I'm trying to do mostly organic with as little processed stuff as possible. Also, the jarred meets skeeve me out so we haven't given her those at all.
Would you mind sharing a sample menu for the day? What is you 9-12mo eating?
Thanks for reading/sharing!!!
Just thought I would add that she is still getting a lot of jarred food because I like the variety she gets without having to buy and prepare all that produce. I work 3 jobs and go to school so the convenience has been great. When did you totally finish with jarred food?

Dd is 8 1/2 months. Her menu is my menu... Whatever I'm eating she eats... As long as it isn't hard or spicy! Makes life really easy. We have never used jarred food.
I almost always give her oatmeal in the morning. She loves it and gobbles it down. I mix it with her formula.
Lunch is usually pasta or chicken. I'm not a veggie eater so she rarely eats that. The most she'll get is normally carrots and celery in soup. Yesterday she had some pasta and meatballs. Day before was some grilled cheese.
Dinner could be beef, chicken, meatloaf,... Anything really... Like I said as long as its soft and I break it off into small enough pieces, dd will eat it! She loves lasagna too lol...
I add fruits here and there... She loves applesauce but I was staying away for a while bc of constipation. Pears is another fav... I stay away from berries still bc of stomach issues.
Sorry I dunno if this helped at all... We don't have a set menu. I'm home with her so I don't really have to plan out meals. I would just Tupperware leftovers for her and she's got a meal for the next day

Mazz, does your DD have teeth? DD is not quite 8 months yet, but I have been reluctant to introduce much table food because she doesn't have teeth. She also doesn't eat with us, because DH gets home late, and I am a FTWM. I would like to start giving her some "real" food though.

No, she is completely toothless lol which makes it even more crazy! She seems to gum really well. They do not need teeth to chew food. Believe me, I did my research before having her chew anything bc I was so paranoid

Wow...dd is the same age and I have not given any table food yet...I am so scared of her choking...I give dd oatmeal with a fruit for breakfast...for lunch-meat and veggies..for dinner- rice cereal with another fruit.

They definitely don't need teeth to eat table food! If you think about it, we only BITE with the top/bottom teeth and we use the molars for actually chewing.. which won't come in until 1 year+ anyway.
Mine are almost 1 year now, but since 10 months have been eating only table food. Stella has 4 teeth and Hudson has 2 teeth (which he just got this month).
To save me from constantly writing homemade, everything is homemade and obviously this is a list of choices, not that they eat it all at one time
breakfast = buttermilk pancakes, waffles, french toast sticks, eggs (scrambled, hard boiled, in omelet, in mini frittata), fresh fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberry, etc).
lunch = leftovers from dinner, greek yogurt with fruit, quesadillas (with anything inside - chicken, beans, cheese, veggies, etc); grilled cheese, mac & cheese (sometimes with peas), pasta with sauce, pasta with butter & edamame & parm, pasta with peas, breaded chicken (baked)
dinner = whatever we're eating. literally! they eat anything. pasta, pizza, chicken, meat, fish... meatloaf, hamburgers, roasted chicken, roasted veggies, baked chicken, broiled salmon,... whatever the whole family is eating.

DD is 9.5 months and she is eating more and more. I started with some finger foods at 8 months and it was a struggle at first but she's getting used to it. I do still rely on purees for the main portion of her meals and then give her some finger foods after for practice since I don't think she'd get a whole meal worth otherwise.
Breakfast is oatmeal with pureed fruit. Then she'll get cheerios, chunks of banana, blueberry or pear pieces, bits of my toast.
Lunch is sometimes yogurt, but usually a mix of fruit and veg. She loves to eat straight from those pouches so I give her those a lot. I'll also give her pieces of fruit, cheese, or puffs.
For dinner, she loves pastina which I mix with pureed veggies. Otherwise just pureed veggies or sometimes a veg with meat but she's not a big fan of that. She does great with chunks of steamed veggies too. She has broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, squash, peas, anything she would have as a puree but in chunks instead. I'll often let her try some of our dinner if it's appropriate but we eat pretty close to her bedtime so I try to only give her a little. She's had chicken, couscous, rice, pasta, meatloaf, omelettes, chicken stew.

You make a very good point.

Someone said that to me when I had the SAME exact worries with my first. I couldn't imagine how people said their kids could eat grilled cheese at 10 months old!
The are #2 and #3 so I'm a little more laid back about it now
