I asked the same question on here months back and the concensus was that its okay. And goes perfectly with a nautical theme!

Re: Please settle a dispute....
Totally fine to use white for a boy. We have white now and I plan to use it for #2 as well. It's totally about how you accessorize!
There's been pictures recently of babies chewing up cribs (those babies being around 12-15 m old) and OMG they DESTROY the dark wood ones! DD isn't a chewer, but our white crib still looks perfect and she's 15 m now.

Re: Please settle a dispute....
I had a hand me down dresser painted white with a varnished oak top for my DS and i loved it and it went great with the room.
it never looked out of place for my son... but i didn't move it over when he went to his big boy room. i'm keeping it in the nursery for DC#2

Absolutely fine. I don't think that any neutral color (white, light wood, dark wood) is gender-specific.

Re: Please settle a dispute....
I personally think it's fine.
However...
We know what we're having but haven't told anyone. I mentioned that we got our nursery furniture the other day on FB and someone asked what color. I responded white. Now a lot of people are like "Oh you must be having a girl!" So there are people out there that think it's feminine but Im finding that it appears to be with older generations.

I agree about the older generation. My FIL made a comment about us having to wait to buy furniture until we knew the gender because we would get white for a girl and dark wood for a boy. We explained that we were doing light wood, and it worked for either. My sister did a very light oak for her boys.
I personally love white nursery furniture for either gender, but DH preferred the light wood.

I think its fine for a boy. My dd and ds are 26 months apart. We bought Lara a white crib, sorry but no way in heck i was buying another crib for our son just because it is white.

I say yes. We are having a girl but I just ordered a french white crib in hopes to use it for my future children even if I have a boy one day. I think it goes either way.

We aren't going to be team green but are pretty set on white either way. (haven't begun looking). I like white with navy for a boy. Or pottery barn had a nice grey and ylow with little trucks that would look cute with white furniture.

Re: Please settle a dispute....
If it is what you like, then it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks.
But I will be honest and say personally I do not like it for a boy and I do automatically associate it with a girl.

Re: Please settle a dispute....
I'll admit that I tend to think that it's more for a girl than a boy. But Ive seen plenty of boy rooms where it works wonderfully. It's definitely in the way you decorate!
