Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child is my go-to sleep bible. It really helped me to structure DD#1's sleeping for naps and nighttime, so now at 23 months she is a fantastic sleeper!! Chat Icon DD#2 came shortly after DD#1 and I have applied the same principles. She sleeps even better than DD#1 if that's possible! Highly Recommend!

I second Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. We have a FANTASTIC sleeper - 12 hours a night since she was 5 months old, sleeping through the night since she was 8 weeks. I plan to re-read it and apply to DD#2, as well.

I agree with both previous posters about Healty Sleep Habits, Happy Child. I love that book! It is definitely my go to book. DS is 15 months and I looked at it a couple of weeks ago when he transitioned to one nap. Love that book!

I also loved 12 Hours Sleep by 12 Weeks old!

Re: Please recommend your Sleep Training book....

I've actually read or started to read several of those. My number 1 go to is Health Sleep Habits, Happy Child and I have an awesome sleeper. Weissbluth's basic philosophy is sleep begets sleep and for us, it really works. I started reading Ferber and was too tired in the newborn days to finish it and since Weissbluth ended up working so well for us, I never finished it. My friends who have read it have basically said to read the part about sleep associations and his CIO method and to skip the rest - that it's basically garbage. They happen to be Weissbluth followers for the most part too so that's probably why they disagree with Ferber on schedules, etc. Weissbluth by the way describes both extinction CIO (his preference) and graduated CIO (Ferber) so you'll get both. Lastly, I read most of Pantly since I was on the fence about CIO and found that it was basically Weissbluth and Ferber's sleep associations chapter in a condensed form minus CIO. She replaced the CIO part with charting to see patterns, which is actually discussed a bit in Weissbluth as well - I don't think I read a single original thought in her book but I can see how it would be useful for someone who thinks Weissbluth and Ferber only give you CIO and so is hesitant to read it but they both give you a lot more than that I think. I highly recommend Weissbluth - that would be my choice - HTH!
