Please recommend your pre-natals
I have been taking women's one-a-day for the past few months and I didn't want to go out and buy a new bottle of vitamins so I had figured that I would just finish these up and then go out and get pre-natals if I got preggo. I think I'm out for this month but either way I would like to start pre-natals and hopefully that will help. Could you please share with me the ones you have taken and where you got them?
TIA
ETA: Are there any special vitamins I can get for DH? He doesnt take any supplements right now so I figured it can't hurt.

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
You should be taking prenatals if your TTC - the earlier the better. I think they recommend at least 3 months before you start trying. I used the One-A-Day brand prenatals and they are pretty good since they include DHA and Omegas.
I just got a script for prescription ones since it winds up being cheaper OB-Natal-One.
The most important thing is that you take something. As for DH - a regular multi-vitamin is always recommended.
Good luck!

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
Im taking One-A-Day along with another folic acid for 400 so that my folic acid equals 800. I am going to take both of these as of right now bc my doc said it was good as long as I was getting 800 of folic acid.
If I get preggo, I am thinking of possibly switching to Rainbow Lite from Target that the girls on here talk about. I've heard some girls say they get nautious from taking regular prenatals and the Rainbow Lite isnt too hard on your stomach. Good Luck

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
I forget the brand name but I have a prescription for prenatals from my doctor.
It comes with a supply of 30 and I can get up to 6 refills before I need a new prescription.
ETA: I have not started taking them yet so I can't say how they are on your stomach, etc.

I got the Trader Joes brand, and I've never been sick from them - though regular vitamins make me nauseous.

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
My doctor also suggested taking them 3 months prior. She prescribed me Gesticare DHA and I LOVE THEM! It is two pills that you take together. 1 is the multivitamin and 1 is the Omega DHA. Folic Acid and Omega supplements are extremely important! My DH just takes a one a day for men. Good luck :)

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
Thank you everybody for your responses. I bought the Women's One A Day pre-natals for now. I had a coupon and was at the supermarket so..... It has the vitamin and the little gel pill too. I will start with those and see what happens.
Thanks again!!

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
your Dr will probably give you a Rx if you ask, even if you arent PG since you should be taking them while TTC. but my dr told me that she took Target brand throughout both her PG and she says OTC is fine to take too.

Do you think the Women's One a Day is good for now? It has 800 folic acid. I'm still on the hunt for a good dr.

yeah thats fine. my Rx ones have 1 mg (or 1000 mcg) so thats close enough. I think regular vitamins only have like 400 mcg...

Re: Please recommend your pre-natals
my dr. recommended Rainbow Light I took them with my 1st pregnancy and I am taking them again
a good prenatal should have iodine or patassium iodide, so look for that ingredient as well as the folic acid
