please recommend your Ped in the stony brook-ish area...
mom-to-be here....
I know there are a gazillion physicians close to SBU.... Does anyone have a particularly good experience with a ped around here?
I'd also consider traveling up to 30 min, if the ped is very good.

They are WONDERFUL! I have such respect for them. They are very caring and always have the attitude of better safe than sorry. They called me in my DS hospital room when my DS was born and I fired my first Peds. In fact today my DD went to them after hurting her wrist badly and they sent us for an Xray and we walked right in and didn't have to wait since they called ahead for us. If you have any other questios just fm me. There are many girls on here who use them.

thanks everyone! It's so hard picking out a ped when I'm not even a mom yet..... It's so good to know some of you have very good experiences....

When DD was born I didn't have a ped picked out so I used the staff ped. that was on call that day. I loved her so much we still go to the practice. It's Stony Brook Pediatric Services in Tech Park in East Setauket (444-kids). They spend a lot of time offering advice/suggestions and I never feel rushed. My son goes to Smithtown Pediatrics in Smithtown, and they are pretty good too. One of these days I'll switch him to DD's practice though.
