Well i dont think this is much help b/c DD is only 4 months and we dont give "meals" yet but she only takes 4 bottles:

~5-7 am (whenever she wakes up): 7/8 ounces

10:00-11 a.m. - 6/7 ounces

3-3:30- 6/7 ounces

7:00-7:30- 6/7 ounces

My son turned 7 months today!

7:30am: breakfast
8:00am: bottle

12:00pm: lunch
12:30pm: bottle

4:00pm: bottle

6:00pm: dinner
6:30/7:00pm: bottle

Breakfast is usually cereal and fruit; lunch is a veggie and sometimes cereal and dinner is the similar to lunch. Most bottles are 8oz.

DD is 9 months, this is her schedule:

24 oz. formula per day
3 meals per day

*Morning bottle- 9am- 8oz.
**Breakfast at 10am (options: egg, Stage 2 fruit w/oatmeal, yogurt)

*Afternoon bottle- 2pm- 8oz.
**Lunch at 3pm (options:veggie w/oatmeal, yogurt, pastina)

**Dinner at 5:30pm (options: Chicken, beef, Pasta)

*Evening bottle- 8pm- 8oz.

In between the feedings she gets a sippy cup with water (she'll take a few sips here and there) and some puffs if she wants them.

Re: Please post your 7-8-9 month eating schedule please!

7am - 8oz bottle

8:30am - fruit (sometimes with oatmeal, sometimes without)

11:30am - 8oz bottle

1:00pm - veggies

4:00pm- 8oz bottle

5:30pm - veggies and/or meat

7:30pm - 6oz bottle (this is a bedtime bottle... just part of the routine. He usually only drinks about 3oz of it).

My son's ped said that at this stage we want to make the food the focus because in just a few short months that is where all of their nutrition is coming from, not the formula.

Re: Please post your 7-8-9 month eating schedule please!

My 9 month old's schedule

6am
6oz bottle
breakfast: 3t oatmeal (2oz of formula) and fruit

11:30am
5-6 oz bottle
yogurt

4:30pm
6oz bottle (lately he doesn't want as much bottle!)
meat/veggie and pastina

7pm
6 oz bottle

My ped wanted everything together so he gets the idea of a meal. I have done both (keeping bottle and meal together and seperating every two hours), he is fine with both!

In between, I am trying to do water and he get puffs!

DD is 10 months, but has been on this schedule for a few months:

7:00 nurse
9:00 breakfast: oatmeal and fruit
12:00 BM in sippy (she only drinks 2-4 oz)
1:00 lunch: oatmeal or soy yogurt with fruit and/or veggie
3:45 nurse
5:00 dinner: table food
6:45 nurse

She also drinks water throughout the day, and snacks on puffs, cheerios and fruit

ETA: She also still nurses once at night since she doesn't really drink at daycare Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

you know i was thinking the same thing! my boys definitely prefer formula now and i was thinking, "well, i hope they start liking food better bc that's all they are getting soon!"

thanks for the advice!!

Re: Please post your 7-8-9 month eating schedule please!

Ds is 7 months on the first.

9ish- 8oz bottle.

11ish- Fruit with cereal or oatmeal.

2ish- Fruit.

4ish- 8oz bottle.

6ish- Vegetable.

8ish- 8oz bottle.

*Puffs and a little very soft table food in between sometimes.

I found it very hard to fit it all in at first especially since I didn't want to over feed him. This is th schedule that works best for him.

Re: Please post your 7-8-9 month eating schedule please!

DS is ging to be 9 months soon. he has been on this schedule from 6 months.

6 am - 8 1/2 oz bottle of formula
10 am- cereal (started mixing in fruit for constipation at 7 months)
1 pm- fruit
4 pm- 8 1/2 oz bottle of formula
7pm- dinner (started with just veggies, moved to mixed veggies, and now do meat and veggies) 10 pm- 8 1/2 oz bottle of formula

dr. said to make sure he gets at least 24oz of formula a day (we're around 27-28)

i also give him snacks (mum-mums, puffs, crunchies if he's hungry and cranky, but make sure not to give him more than 4oz of those a day. sometimes it's less, sometimes more)

he drinks about 6 oz of water/tea a day as well (i give him some after the non-formula meals to make sure he doesn't get constipated)

good luck!

I was hoping for the same thing when mine started solids but ped said they shouldn't be dropping bottles till around 10 months or so. Just dont want you to get your hopes up like I did! Chat Icon
