Please if you have any prayers left...I got some bad news tonight
The doctor said my HSG was good but my blood work was not so good.
Basically my ovaries are aging and they aren't sure how old they are as compared to the rest of me and this is why I haven't gotten pregnant. I may actually be in menopause.
I have to repeat my blood tests next week.
I may not be able to have my own children and I am devastated beyond belief.
I asked if they knew why this happened and they didn't know. I asked if they knew how old my ovaries were and they didn't know. I was pretty upset with the way the doctor handled this and may be again seeking another doctor.
If anyone has had any experience with this can you please FM me.

I don't have any experience with this, but please don't give up hope yet. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion on this, ASAP!

WHY would they do this to you without any explanation???? That is just terrible to let you sit with this overnight. It is totally unacceptable for your dr to treat you like this. I am so mad for you right now!!!! Are they talking about your fsh? What CD are you? Definitely get another opinion. I am so sorry sweetie. I am definitely praying for you
ETA I just saw in your other post you are CD3. So it must be your fsh. If so, it is not hopeless, there is a lot you can do and drs out there who specialize in that.

I am a worst case scenario type of person and wanted answers and options. I kept asking questions and kept hearing "well we don't know that, and we aren't sure" Is there anything you do KNOW??? What the hell are you getting paid for??? Plus there was a resident sitting in on this whole thing and wasn;t even asked if that was ok. That also pi$$ed me off.

YES it was the FSH...you know what I cannot say that for sure, Blood was done on CD 3 but I wasn;t told what levels were high. I felt very rushed and it seemed like he was annoyed that I got upset like I was interupting his whole talk

I am so sorry you had this horrible experience tonight. I would call tomorrow and request a copy of your b/w. You have the right to that information. Honestly we are all so experienced we will be able to help you figure out what they are talking about. No matter what, i would get a 2nd opinion anyway.
And trust me, there are ways to get around this. May not be what you thought. I am currently researching DE and i know its the most horrible thing to hear but I don't really think its so bad anymore. But, hopefully, you wont need to know anything about it.
Again, I'm so sorry. Most of us have been through this. Where you find something out that you didn't know or even think could be bad. It will be OK.

You need to know what your fsh is. I got pregnant on my first IVF with an fsh of 14.9/ I stimmed with menopur and gonal f with no bcp's for about 10 days. Then they added ganirelix to help my smaller follies catch up. They retrieved 8. 5 made it to day 3. They implanted 2 and the other 3 arrested before day 5. I am 31 weeks with twin boys. I alkso got the DE speech(not from my Dr who ended up doing my IVF though-RMANY-Dr Ruman)

I've been where you are.
My fsh was 18.2. Now it's 8.7. All is not lost.
I had a doctor tell me this too. I cried for 3 days. Then I went to Cornell, did day 2 blood testing and it was great.
Dr. Davis did not give me the donor egg speech. Who knows if I will have to do this down the road but we are trying first.

Oh sweetie I am so sorry you are going through this right now.
Definitely get your bloodwork results PRINTED so you can have them in front of you.
And absolutely get a second opinion! If your doctor was anything less than ready and willing to answer every question with PATIENCE and kindness - then seek out someone else!
Was this an RE or your regular ob/gyn?

I am so sorry with the news you got I definately think you need to get all your b/w numbers & then see from there what you want to do. I am sure pretty sure like others have said that if it is your FSH that there are ways.
If you are not feeling confident with your RE, then you need to look into a new place to go

I am so sorry!!! But... get additional opinions! Believe me, I was once told by a dr, that she thought I had cancer and potentially needed hysterectomy... GET ANOTHER OPINION... 3 years later, no cancer... never was and I still have all my parts.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I couldn't agree more with everyone else. I would absolutely get a copy of your b/w and get a 2nd opinion. I would post a thread about "recommend your RE". I remember reading really great things about certain doctors on here. I hear LI-IVF and RMA-NY are really good. I wish I could recommend my RE but I'm not all that thrilled with them.

2nd RE...said that I have aging ovaries and painted a bleek picture for me

I can completely understand your anxiety about all this. I saw your other thread about Cornell and read all the great things people have to say about them. 2nd best in the country...thats awesome!!! I think that would be a great place for you to get potential IF treatment.

I am so very, very sorry you got this news. Do not give up hope. I've gotten so many different stories about our issues. Our first RE told us we should use donor sperm and that I had premature ovarian failure. We went ahead with the cycle anyway and havea 2 year old son.
I've now been cycling with a differenct clinic for DC #2 and my current RE said my ovaries are fine and never once mentioned donor sperm.
You need to find a doctor who specializes in high FSH levels. Some doctors see the high levels and freak b/c they know they can't handle your case and they want their stats to stay high. So, they push the DE's.
Don't give up hope.

I am so sorry!!! I got similar news as you. My ObGYN ran tests after I had two m/c and said that I had a high FSH and that I had PCOS so I went to the RE. He ran tests and just said I have high FSH, premature ovarian failure. He just kept telling me that it was nothing that I did, or nothing I could have done to prevent this, it just happens to some people. I was supposed to do a IUI with injectibles this summer but when I went in my FSH shot up even higher. Now I am on BCP for 3 weeks and then going to try the IUI with injectibles. The RE said that if I don't respond after 1 or 2 tries I am going to have to look into egg donation....not what I wanted the hear at all since I am only 33. I am just glad that he is giving me the chance with my own eggs, so I am praying that it will work!! If you need to talk or have questions just FM me.
