Please help me choose plants for my Window Boxes

I have these adorable white window boxes under the front windows of my brick cape - I LOVE LOVE LOVE them -

But I am the worst gardner known to man - I try and try - and I just kill everything !!

The house gets full sun all day and is South facing - Can you suggest some bright flowres for these boxes?

TIA !!!

I would go to a nursery like Hick's and ask them there what kind of flowers work well with low maintenance and drought tolerant. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm new at this too. GL! Chat Icon

Not sure if they are drought tolerant, but my neighbor puts Gerber daisies in hers and they look so cute!

vinca is pretty. it would cascade over a little. then something higher behind it like salvia (which kind of spikes up like a flame) oe marigolds always give great color and would look great behind the vinca. However w/marigolds & salvia you want to dead head them and pop off the dead ones so you get more blooms. So, I'm not sure if you can reach your window boxes.

my parents own a garden center....
for full sun, i would say vinca flower ( not to be confused with vinca vine- LOL) would be nice. its needs very little water and does well with the all day sun. Geraniums are also great for sun all day, but you do have to pull the dead blooms off of them occasionally. they have ivy geraniums that would hang down out of the box a little bit... so maybe some of them in the front, with vinca behind them for some height ( its a little bit taller)

why not impatiens that accent the other colors in your home. (other than white which is the color of your boxes)

I am a terrible gardner and can't kill these plants. They just don't get all big and full until mid summer, which may seem like a long time from now.
