Re: Please dont laugh, but need advice
The 3rd day of DS being "trained" with no accidents we had a Bar Mitzvah to go to. Suit, tie and all. I was so nervous about this bc I knew there would be an accident. Too much dancing and playing he'd get distracted and have an accident.
Well, posted something similar about what to do and everyone said that whatever you do don't go back.
I brought a bag with a few extra pairs of underwear and two extra black pants, wipes, last resort pull-ups, etc. Worst case he's in a jacket, tie and sweats. I didn't care. LOL! Well... he did great! No accidents. Sure I had to take him to the bathroom pretty often, but he stayed dry. Good part was there was family there to help. I asked about every 5 mins if he had to go. Me, DH, my MIL, cousins, uncles, etc all got a chance to take him to the bathroom.
At least I was able to have a couple of drinks. Go out and just prepare for the worst, but don't put him in diapers no matter what.

I was so nervous too. But dd did way better than I ever thought! I just made sure I stayed on top of her. Day 4 was the first time in a public restroom.
Goodluck! Extra clothes and keep trying the potty even if he says no, whenever you can.

Obviously I'm in the middle of this too, but I am already anxious about bringing her out after all this. Great post, because I was literally just thinking about this!

Re: Please dont laugh, but need advice
Wow - seems like a few of us picked the same weekend to train! Today is Day 4, and our first day leaving the apartment. I was definitely nervous - put DD in a dress and even brought along a roll of paper towels in case I had to deal with a mess
Luckily, everything went ok, although we had to try the public toilet a few times before she would go (I brought a seat to put on top). The autoflusher scared the sh1t out of her, so I had cover the sensor from picking up her moving.
I'm sure a few ladies chuckled when I started clapping and cheering after she finally went. The joys of being a mom.

Re: Please dont laugh, but need advice
I had no choice but take her out day 4 I was going back to work and she was going to daycare. I bought a great travel potty and put a liner on the bottom of the car seat so if she did have an accident it would hopefully be on there and not on the car seat. brought extra clothes. she was fine I think we had maybe one accident in the car and it was a while after she was trained. DD was two when I trained her.

Go for it. Have ds go before you leave. Scope out bathroom locations where you get to. Always hve extra clothes. Accidents will happen but you have to venture out sometime. My ds peed and popped in just about every public bathroom out there.
Oh and I permanently have the portable potty in my car. It never leaves. It has come in handy!!!

Bring extra clothes and just do it. One of my sons potty trained on his own and all of a sudden just started telling me he had to go potty. From that moment on I took away his diapers. I had just bought a big pack of pull ups to start potty training him and never opened them so I returned them and never put a pull up or diaper on him again. he had 1 pee accident at a family members house but that was it. My other son the "pull up fairy" came and took away his pull ups. He was having consistent accidents but I just took the pull ups away and never put one on him again. Not one accident. I was so nervous going out. I have a potty in my van in case but they've been fine and we've been diaper and pull up free for about 3 months now.

Re: Please dont laugh, but need advice
I laid low for a week after training.
After that, I really think it sunk in & we almost never had accidents.
Change of clothes is important though... even to have a spare years after. Seriously, my DS wet himself at preK (are you kidding!!!!) because he was holding for too long.
