Planning Questions - Prenatals, Ob/Gyn, etc.

DH and I are going to start TTC very soon, so I'm hoping some of you can help me with some questions I have.

Prenatals - what exactly should I be looking for in prenatals, like amounts of DHA, calcium, folate, folic acid (are those the same thing?!), other things I should be looking for etc. I did a thread search for recommended prenatals on here and it seems quite a few of you ladies take Rainbow Light. Amazon seems like a good place to purchase but there are a lot of varieties and it seems the DHA supplement is separate from the multivitamin. If anyone take this brand, can you tell me specifically which one(s). Also, does it matter when you start taking them, like am I behind because I haven't been taking them for months and I'm going to TTC soon? I haven't had a dr appt yet, so no recommendation or prescription there. Which brings me to my next question.

Ob/Gyn - I'm in the process of finding a new dr. My last one was ok but I never felt the care was personal enough and that's not really what I want to go through during a pregnancy. My cousin is a family dr so she recommended hers, it's just difficult to get in to see him and I will need to make an appt for much later than I would've liked. We're going on a delayed honeymoon/first year anniversary trip and will be actively trying to conceive even a bit before. I guess I'm just trying to reassure myself that it's ok I haven't seen a dr before TTC. I think I'm a bit nervous I may end up pregnant, God willing, and I won't have seen a dr yet!

Taking Charge of Your Fertility - anyone have this book? My best friend recommended it to me and she found it very helpful. I'm a little overwhelmed by it. There's a LOT of info and I'm not really sure where to start. Anything anyone found particularly useful?

i would appreciate any and all info. If there's anything else you think may be good to know, I would love to hear.

TIA!

Make sure you make an appt with your doctor. My doctor gave me a planning matrix and milestones.

I take the vita fusion prenatal gummies. They have 800 mg of folic acid. I have been taking them even before Ttc.

Taking charge of your fertility is helpful because it explains charting your temperature and the facts about ovulation. I am still reading it but I find it very helpful.

Try some of the pregnancy websites like babycenter.com or fertility friend.
