There is a place in the city - the name is Christine Valmay (I think....I'm not 100% on that).
You could maybe contact a vendor on LIW and see if any of them were willing to take on an apprentice or give you some advice as to where they trained.

Hey Chick-
My cousin took classes at Lia Schorr Institute
She highly reccomends them. I regret not taking the classes with her.

Don't you have to be licensed with NY State? Like a licence in Cosmetic or esthetician?

Some places like Mac and other make up counters don't require a license.I know my friend worked for Mac and was sent to school for a few weeks by Mac.
I went to a place on the Island and got my license. I was done in 2 years going part time.
