pjs for hospital

Should I be buying something with an elastic waist band or a nightgown? Didn't really want to wear a nightgown. What did you ladies wear after birth and what clothes did you wear during the day when you had visitors?

Re: pjs for hospital

I had a C-Sec so my first full day I just wore the hospital gown...when I had permission to shower, I changed into a stretchy waistband yoga pants, nursing top and short robe.

This time I bought a Gilligan and OMalley pajama pants and a light long sleeved sweater in case the hospital is chilly to wear with my nursing top.

Re: pjs for hospital

I would pack something with a loose high waste just in case you end up with a csection, you will need something that does not rub against the incision, same thing for underwear, my mom had to bring me appropriate things since I hadn't planned on a csection. Other than that, yoga pants, sweats, etc. anything loose and comfortable, nursing tanks/bras if you plan on breastfeeding, just be comfortable

I wore the hospital gown the two days I was there, but came home in a pair of baggy sweats and a maternity top that double as PJs. Very comfy!

Re: pjs for hospital

I bought a pair of nursing pjs from Motherhood. Its a nursing tank, long pants and a long sleeve robe style top(wrap top with a tie) but not a robe. I know the hospital is usually really cold. And im not a nightgown person. Plus I wanted to feel halfway comfy and good about myself when people come to visit.

I brought a nightgown just in case I had a c-section, and a pair of pjs from motherhood. I also had a robe just in case I was cold. I ended up wearing the pjs with no robe.

Button-front flannel pjs (2 pairs) that were a size up from my normal. I brought a nightgown too in case I was too warm in the pjs.

eta: I had a csection, but wore the pants on my waist, way above the incision. It was fine.

Re: pjs for hospital

I think I brought regular non-maternity sweats and I had a c section and I was fine. I also had a tank top or t-shirt with a fleece sweatsuit jacket to be cozy. No need to buy a robe! My nurse did send my dh to cvs to buy me "grandma underwear" though which was very amusing! I told her I packed grandma underwear but apparently I had no clue what that really meant!!
