Re: PJs for hospital
I had bought pjs.. but endedup just staying in the hospital gown.. with all the bleeding and them checking the area to make sure it was healing properly it was just soo much easier.
I delivered on a sat night and was released monday morning so wasnt in that long.

Re: PJs for hospital
Friends suggested I stay away from pants, since there is a lot of bleeding and checking. I bought some nursing PJs from Destination Maternity and my friend bought me a very nice nightgown that is flowy.

Re: PJs for hospital
I never thought about pants not being a great idea with the bleeding, but that's a good point. ugh. I haaaaate nightgowns, I don't think I've worn one since I was a little girl. Oh well. Now I have to find a non-grandma looking nightgown.

Re: PJs for hospital
I just bought pj pants at target. I was fine in pants yes lots of bleeding so have a couple of pairs - the only checking I had was pressing on my tummy. So pants were no problem and I had a vag delivery

Re: PJs for hospital
When I had my son, pants were no problem...I did have bleeding, but the pants were no problem. Plus I delivered vag, so didnt have an issue with them having to check me. I was soo much more comfortable in my pjs rather than wearing the gown when people came to visit.

Re: PJs for hospital
Anything you are normally comfortable in, i would just make sure its dark. pants/shorts are ok, but you might mess them up so dont get light colors. i wore nursing tanks and shorts/capri PJ bottoms with DS. This time ill do the same but with pants b/c it will be winter. They only check down there for the first few hours, after my first shower i put my own clothes on.

Re: PJs for hospital
I bought a few pj sets (kind of lounging pajamas) at Costco...Definately shoot for darker colors if you can...the only thing with the lounging sets, if you plan on nursing, it can be a little bit more of a PIA, unless you can find the button down tops which would be ideal...I never had a problem with pants with DS (and I bled A LOT!), but night gowns are not my thing

Re: PJs for hospital
honestly pants were not a problem for me - since i had a c-section they really only checked the bleeding the first day and cleaned me up every once in a while when i couldn't move myself. the other 3 days i wore pajama pants i got at old navy - the most comfy pants EVER. they still fit now because of the wide. stretchy waistband, and didn't bother my c-section incision at all.
but having no experience with a v-birth, i don't know how much they really check you... i will say that being in a gown the first day made it much easier for the nurses to do their thing.

Re: PJs for hospital
One of my coworkers bought me Pj pants from Target and even though I didn't end up wearing them at the hospital (I wore the gown for the 1st day and then yoga pants the next two days) I wore them once I got home and they were so incredibly comfortable.

Re: PJs for hospital
I like wearing yoga pants/sweats. I felt like they hold everything together....the pad against your tummy (for the c/s incision) and the other pad as well.
All in dark colors.

Re: PJs for hospital
I got a nice pj/lounge outfit from motherhood. It's really comfy and doesn't really look like pajamas. It has a v neck top that is good for breastfeeding.

Re: PJs for hospital
I got cheap pants at Walmart, just plain black Hanes pants and a t-shirt top. My mom and sister each bought me another pair of pajamas. I had no problems in the pants (I did have a c-section though and was told you do not bleed as much), but would recommend bringing more than one pair. After wearing them all day/night you want to put on something fresh in the morning.
