Re: Pioneer Woman

between my mom and I, we have tried so many!! The only one I didn't like was the crash potatoes - and that was because mine stuck to my masher and broke apart. lol. Everything else we have made has been very good. And her salsa is awesome. I make it all the time.

Re: Pioneer Woman

I love her crash hot potatoes!!

I also just tried the Mexican lasagna and it was a huge hit. I made a few minor tweaks and will warn you that the recipe as they have it is HUGE and you should half it unless you are feeding an army.

Her Tequila lime chicken is delightful.. especially with the homemade pico.

I didn't care for her chicken and olives and I think there are much better recipes out there for Coq au vin.

I've tried so many of her recipes - when I'm stuck her site is the first place I go to for ideas.

LOOOVE her tenderloin and spicy lemon shrimp... I also liked her mac and cheese, sesame noodles, creme brulee, Pastor Ryan's roasted chicken and on and on and on :)

I didn't love the chocolate sheet cake that everyone seems to go nuts for though.

ETA - Is anyone else super excited for her book? I really enjoyed the "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" segments on her site.

I've tried a bunch! I'll tell you this.... I haven't made ANYTHING from hers that I didn't like. There are a few that I wasn't all that impressed with, but there hasn't been anything that wasn't yummy!

Mushroom and swiss sliders with spicy fry sauce - liked
Restaurant style salsa - yummy!
Pico de gallo - similar to my own recipe
"The Bread" - DELICIOUS and easy!
the beans from her beans and cornbread - yum
crash hot potatoes - LOVE
summer stir fry - liked
creamed spinach - LOVE
springy shells - liked
dreamy apple pie - LOVE
braised short ribs - LOVE
herb roasted whole chicken - LOVE (it's a regular around here now)
caramelized onion and prosciutto pizza - like
potatoes au gratin - LOVE

those are the ones I can think of....

Re: Pioneer Woman

the only one I tried it the crash hot potatoes and they were great.

I am not a blog reader, but I might just buy her cookbook.

ETAL I think I want her life though. Chat Icon part of me wants my husband to whisk me away to a farm/ranch so I can cook all day and tend to our brood.

Re: Pioneer Woman

I love her!

Chicken Piccata
Portobello Burgers
Herb Roasted Chicken
Crash Hot Potatoes
Chicken with Tomatoes and Garlic (with red wine)

She looks like she has great Mexican Recipes, but sadly I can't get too many Mexican ingredients here.

One thing I don't like is her Chicken Tikka. I didn't think it was that good, so it's turned me off from all her other Indian dishes.

I think I'm going to try her Mexican Lasagna and Chicken Spaghetti this week and just 1/2 the recipe. Both look like they'll make good lunch leftovers. Now to plan the rest of this weeks meals.

If you like cookbooks like I like cookbooks, then it's a good one. She filled it with pictures of her family and anecdotes for the recipes. It's a good read.

Some of the recipes weren't on the blog at first, but ai *believe* she has put most of them on her blog now.
