PIO Help/Advice
In the past, I have had others do the PIO shots for me because i just couldn't bring myself to do it. I am triggering tonight and will have my retrieval on Thursday I have had NO problems doing the injections in my stomach, but something about doing an IM injection completely freaks me out. Am I making a bigger deal of this than I should? I have a feeling I'm going to have to do them

Re: PIO Help/Advice
I was freaked out by PIO in the beginning but I got used to it quick, I had no choice. I feel more comfortable doing the shot myself. I ice first and at the same time wrap the syringe with PIO in it in a heating pad since its so thick the heat thins it out. I do the injection and then put the heating pad on the spot. The first shot is the worst but it gets easier each day. Good luck!

Thank you!!
How exactly do you hold the needle? I feel like it's such an awkward angle to do the injection and I'm worried I'll do it wrong

It's an awkward position so make sure you relax the leg your injecting. I hold the syringe almost like a pen and after I inject I use my other hand to push it in. Make sure you pull the needle straight out and then massage the area for a few min so that it disperses.

I did the same.
I injected myself into the upper third of my thigh. It didn't hurt going in but was just "gross" if you know what I mean. I held it in my hand like a fist and used my thumb to plunge.

I have no advice but want to say you girls are so brave to do this on your own. I could never get myself to even attempt to do it on my own. GL Hoping4formiralce
