Picky Eater 9 Months Old
So Im starting to wonder if my dd is going to be a picky eater. I make her baby food, she is not ready yet for table food. Ive tried.
The only thing she wants to eat and absolutely loves is squash. She likes pears a lot and applesauce, but not the way she loves squash. I have tried everything with her and she doesn't want to eat it. She closes her mouth, fusses, gags, cries... This is what Ive tried and she wont eat: Kiwi Avocado Beets Sweet Potatoes Peas Bananas Chicken
I even tried mixing in chicken with squash or applesauce with peas, she wouldn't open her mouth and cried. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have suggestions? Should I try buying jarred food to see if she likes that more? Im not crazy about feeding her jarred food but if I have to than I have to. If that's the only way shes going to try other things. If the recommendation is jarred food, can someone recommend a good organic one that has the least amount of additives to it.
Thanks!

Have you tried cheese? DS is a some what picky eater but will eat almost anything as long as there's cheese in it. He hates chicken but loves it with cheese. I also make him cheese omelettes. He loves that! Also at 9 months you can give yogurt.

I would keep trying finger foods. It took DD a little while to get used to it but now it's all she'll eat. She loves feeding herself peas (although she loved them pureed too). Cheerios and blueberries are other faves.
You could also try some of the organic pouches. DD loved eating straight from the pouch even when she was refusing a lot of her meals. I've noticed a lot of the store bought mixes have pear as the first ingredient so maybe try that with a little bit of something she doesn't love like peas, sweet potato, or chicken. It must be a good flavor masker since it's used a lot, especially in the jarred meats I've noticed.

Dd is on alimentum so im afraid to try dairy as she has some type of intolerance.
Thats a good idea with the pouches. I will try that and see what happens. I will also try pears to mix.
Yea ive tried the puffs with her and she seems to like the taste but starts to spit out the pieces like she doesnt know what to do with it.

I would just keep trying and try table food. DS hated lots of purées but loves the actual food. Hated puréed peas but loves peas.
And you just have to keep trying. When we switched to table food he wouldn't eat. I just kept trying and stopped the purées within a few days he was in table food.

my dd is 8 months and doesnt eat much solids. she only started opening her mouth for the spoon about 2 weeks ago. she loves puffs though. so it seems like she might actually like table food more than purees. its a mission to get her to eat purees. she still closes her mouth almost everytime and will only take a lil. i may just try having her eat more table foods since she likes to chew
